Get your review link
In your Google Business Profile, open "Ask for reviews". Google gives you a short link that opens the review box directly. That link is the whole trick: every extra tap you ask a customer to make loses half of them.
Ask the same day, in one message
Ask while the customer is still happy, not a week later. A short WhatsApp message works best: thank them, say one review helps a small business a lot, paste the link. Nothing more.
For a shop or a restaurant, print the link as a QR code and put it where people pay. For a service business, send it the moment the job is finished.
Answer every review
Reply to every review, including the bad ones. A calm, short answer to a complaint persuades the next reader more than ten perfect reviews do, because it shows somebody is there.
The shortcuts that get you punished
Never buy reviews, never write them yourself, and never offer a discount in exchange for five stars. Google removes fake reviews in bulk and can suspend the whole profile, and a suspended profile takes weeks to come back.
Do not ask only the customers you know are happy while hiding the link from everyone else. Ask everybody; a real mix of reviews is what Google and customers both trust.
